P&G Tops Another Years’ United Way Workplace Campaign Goals

Procter & Gamble (P&G), its employees and retirees have a rich history of helping the local community, coming off a 50th anniversary celebration of the Mehoopany plant itself. In its 50 year giving history, this year’s United Way campaign efforts surpassed them all.

“We are delighted to participate in the annual United Way campaign,” said P&G’s Public Relations Manager Alex Fried. “This year’s campaign was very successful, as our employee giving and corporate gift exceeded $577,000 – a new record – of support to six United Ways in Northeastern Pennsylvania.” The by county breakdown of the P&G campaign is as follows: $20,924 to United Way of Sullivan County; $75,838 to United Way of Susquehanna County; $65,685 to United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne County; $228,634 to United Way of Wyoming County; $102,381 to United Way of Wyoming Valley; and $84,484 to United Way of Bradford County.

Overall, these numbers represent an over $34,000 increase versus last years and area United Ways are very appreciative for P&G exceeding their lofty plant goal of $550,000. It also became the EIGHTH year in a row that P&G Mehoopany set a new record of United Way giving.

During P&G’s 50 year anniversary event in July, leadership spoke during those ceremonies about their commitment when the site was founded to helping the community. That generosity is still evident today as employees continue to honor that commitment. The six United Ways serving hundreds of communities in Northeastern Pennsylvania wish to extend a great big thank you to P&G.
